Broadway Favorites with Doug LaBrecque
On Nov. 7 the Symphony presents “Broadway Favorites” when Broadway superstar Doug LaBrecque, whose beautiful tenor voice has been enjoyed beyond Broadway by audiences across the nation, joins the Billings Symphony Orchestra and Chorale, prepared by Steven Hart, to deliver memorable tunes like Over The Rainbow from “The Wizard of Oz,” Circle of Life from “The Lion King,”and Mr. Cellophane from “Chicago.” Local vocalists Susan Sommerfeld and Amy Logan join LaBrecque for Music of the Night from “Phantom of the Opera” and other Broadway hits. The Chorale, with local soloists, perform Leonard Bernstein’s Candide Suite.
After LaBrecques’s performance with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra a reporter from the Naples Daily News said “you could practically feel chills when everyone realized LaBrecque was in the audience, slowly walking down the aisle as the duo nailed The Music Of The Night.'
