Diamond Parking Lot in downtown Billings was recently sold and the new owner plans to replace the lot with a new, six-level parking garage on the site with 430 parking spaces, said Leif Welhaven with EEC, an engineering and architecture company.

The new parking structure, east of the Stillwater building, will primarily serve those who will work in the Stillwater, which used to be the James F. Battin Building and housed the federal courthouse.

The new parking structure will also be open to the public. EEC has given no timeline for when the project will begin.

Plans include a skybridge that will be built to connect the Stillwater building with the new parking structure. EEC, the company which sold the Diamond Parking Lot, debuted the plans to the Billings City Council earlier this month.
