St. Vincent Healthcare has received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Action Registry-GWTG Silver Performance Achievement Award for 2014. St. Vincent Healthcare is one of only 139 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor. The award recognizes St. Vincent Healthcare’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and signifies that St. Vincent Healthcare has reached an aggressive goal of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.

St. Vincent Healthcare consistently followed the treatment guidelines in the Action Registry-GWTG for four consecutive quarters and met a performance standard of 90 percent for specific performance measures.

Registration has opened for the 14th annual Women Stepping Forward for Agriculture Symposium on Sept. 23-25 at the Big Horn Resort in Billings. The symposium will give women involved in promoting Montana’s agriculture the opportunity to learn about issues affecting Montana’s rural agricultural communities, promote leadership development and further support women’s leadership roles within those communities. Topics for discussion include Farm and Ranch Transition, Soil Health Record Management, Technology in Ag-Apps, Key Agriculture and Inspiring Speakers, Local & Fresh Food Preparation, Farm Bill Updates and much more.

The registration cost is $60 prior to Sept. 5 and $75 after that date. The registration form, which includes agenda highlights and lodging information, is available online at the Montana FSA Website at fsa.usda.gov/Internet/FSA_File/2014_wsfa_registration.pdf.

The symposium is hosted by USDA Food and Agriculture Council, Montana Agri-Women, Montana Cattlewomen, Montana Farm Bureau Women, Montana Woolgrower Women, Women Involved in Farm Economics (WIFE), Montana Beef Council, Ag in Montana Schools, Intertribal Agriculture Council, Montana Department of Agriculture and Montana Farmers Union.

The Billings Chapter 100 of the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance will hold its monthly lunch meeting at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Fortin Culinary Center at the Billing Food Bank.
