Construction of the new Pickle Barrel restaurant on the West End is nearly finished, and the owners say they hope to open later this month or in early July.

Owner Daniel McComish is planning to hire 35 to 40 employees at the site on the corner of Rosebud Drive and 32nd Street West. They held interviews at the site Friday and Saturday, and they’re still accepting applications.

Applications are posted on the Pickle Barrel’s Facebook page.

Bozeman-based Pickle Barrel is a unique Montana brand with four franchises, known for its giant sub sandwiches. The original Billings shop had closed in 2012, and McComish has been working the past two years to secure a zoning change from the city and bring the Pickle Barrel back to Yellowstone County.
