HELENA — Montana's unemployment rate for September has been delayed due to the federal government shutdown.
The state Department of Labor says both the September and October unemployment are scheduled to be released on Nov. 22.
The Montana Department of Labor and Industry partners with the Bureau of Labor Statistics to produce Montana's labor market statistics. During the federal government shutdown, all data collection and production ceased, preventing the development of Montana's economic information.
Montana's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for August held steady at 5.3 percent.
Nationally, September's unemployment rate was 7.2 percent, down slightly from 7.3 percent in August.
