Wesley Harvey is the new curator of exhibitions at the Red Lodge Clay Center. Harvey comes to Montana from San Antonio, Texas, where he has lived for the past six years as an artist and educator. He is the co-founder and co-director of Clamp Light Studios and Gallery, a cooperative of visual artists encouraged to take risks, exhibit and establish a relationship within the community. Harvey was the exhibitions preparator for Landmark Arts in Lubbock, Texas, in 2007-2008 and has continued to curate various exhibitions. He received his bachelor of fine arts in ceramics from Indiana University in Bloomington and his master's of fine arts in ceramics from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Harvey has exhibited his artwork nationally and internationally. He was recently included in the 20th San Angelo National Ceramic Competition, winning first place. His artwork can be found in various publications including 500 Contemporary Ceramic Sculptures and The Essential Guide to Mold Making & Slip Casting. Harvey's works are in the permanent collection of the Kinsey Institute for Research on Sex, Gender, and Reproduction, the Shanghai Museum of Arts & Crafts as well as several private collections.
