Hannah Potes has joined The Billings Gazette as a staff photographer. She was most recently a photographer at the Rocky Mount Telegram in Rock Mount, North Carolina. She is a native of Fredericktown, Ohio, and went to Kent State University. There, she received a bachelor’s degree in photojournalism and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish. Her photography has placed in the Hearst Journalism Awards three times in the past three years. She also completed photo journalism internships at the Lexington Herald-Leader in Lexington, Kentuckey, Jackson Citizen Patriot in Jackson, Michigan, and the Orange County Register in Santa Ana, California.
