Working with a full range of graphite pencils and other implements, participants will work up a mid-tone ground, create an observed image or invented shape, and develop a full range of darks and lights by erasing for lights and adding more graphite for darks. Beginners are welcome as are accomplished artists who have not tried this approach.
Lynn Thorpe earned her MFA in Painting and Printmaking in 1983 at University of Wyoming. Her work is generally large scale oil paintings but drawing, particularly on toned ground, is a prevailing interest with a life of its own.
