'The Kite Runner'

A one-man stage adaptation of 'The Kite Runner" plays at the Alberta Bair Theater twice on Tuesday, Oct. 17 as part of the theater's Student Matinee Series.

As part of Alberta Bair Theater’s Valley Federal Credit Union Student Matinee Series, a one-man performance of "The Kite Runner" will be performed at the theater at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

General admission tickets are $5.50 and can be purchased at the ABT box office on the corner of Third Avenue North and North Broadway or by phone at 406-256-6052 (box office hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This Literature to Life award winner features 50 minutes of performance from the first half of the best-selling novel about the relationship of two boys: Amir, a privileged Pashtun; and Hassan, a Hazara servant.

Through the eyes of the young protagonist Amir, the actor takes the audience on a heartbreaking journey of friendship and betrayal in a society of severe class division. The adaptation mirrors the original short story written by Khaled Hosseini and utilizes original Afghani music as a backdrop for the performance.
