CODY, Wyo. — Spontaneous Theater Productions is presenting "John Brown's Body" in four Wyoming cities this month.

Stephen Vincent Benet's epic Civil War poem, "John Brown's Body," opens in Cody on Nov. 13 and then plays Nov. 14 in Casper, Nov. 15 in Cheyenne, and Nov. 16 in Laramie.

Because of the long association of the Simpson family in Cody and in Wyoming (Pete is former U.S. Sen. Alan Simpson's elder brother), the production is creating quite a bit of local interest.

The Simpsons, through their Spontaneous Theater Productions company, have produced plays for four decades in Wyoming, especially in and around the Laramie area, where Pete has also been a longtime political science professor at the University of Wyoming.

In addition to the five members of the Simpson family, a local choir has been organized specifically for this production.

Organizers of the theater tour hope that Civil War history buffs or friends of the Simpsons from across the area will attend one of the productions.
