The West High Drama Department presents “Rebel Without a Cause,” based on the classic James Dean cult film, April 10-12 in the West High Auditorium. The curtain rises at 7:30 each night.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. This creative adaptation follows a day in the life of a young man teetering on the edge of adulthood.
Jim Stark and his family move to a new town hoping for a fresh start to escape his rebellious behavior. Unfortunately, his efforts are thwarted when he catches the attention of the school bully, who challenges him to a life-threatening drag race.
No one predicted the outcome, but the result is a night full of teenagers struggling to find their place in the adult world.
Directed by Myra Nurre, the production features Tanner Bolin in the title role. Also performing are Erica Noble, Cosette McCave, Hunter Hash, Matthew Hagen, Wyatt DeVera and Alexis Hulse.
Due to some violence as well as adult content involved in the show, it is not recommended for young children. There will be a brief talk-back session following the April 11 show.
