RED LODGE — For the past two weeks of July, the Arts Guild in Red Lodge will have an exhibit and retrospective display of the art of Big Timber artists Jack Hines and Jessica Zemsky. Included in the show will be a variety of subjects and prints from their sketchbooks.
Zemsky and Hines have been involved in art most of their lives. Forty-plus of those years have been based in Montana. They spent their preceding 30 years in New York involved in editorial and advertising art.
Besides the basic Western themes, many trips to Europe have resulted in material over the years. Small-town life, ranch experience and closeness with family have been high on the subject lists for the two artists, along with the historic factors that appear so regularly.
Zemsky recently donated 30 pieces of her art to St. Vincent Healthcare to use in its new pediatric unit.
The exhibit will be on display through July 31. The exhibit is free. The reception for the artists will be Saturday, July 26, from 3 to 5 p.m.
