Rocky Mountain College celebrated the 30th anniversary of Black Tie Blue Jeans last week with a record-breaker: $525,000 was raised during the event to fund scholarships.

Organizers transformed RMC's Fortin Center gym to create a party atmosphere. Attendance was set at 525 people who dined, danced and bid on auction items.

Rocky president Bob Wilmouth said the record-setting night was a celebration of the accomplishments of the college -- its students, staff and alumni -- and the community.

"Rocky Mountain College is an anchor institution in this community that educates students to think critically," Wilmouth said. "We will be exceptional stewards of these funds, and the college and our students will always be grateful for the gift of education the community has provided."
