Summer Writers Roundup set for Saturday

Summer Writers Roundup will take place Saturday, June 21, at the Billings Public Library. Admission is free. 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 


10 a.m.: Doors open. Book sales and autographs will be available all conference hours.

10:30-10:45 a.m.: Introduction of panelists

10:45 a.m.-noon: Question and answer session aimed at answering how to begin writing; why to write; how to balance work, family and writing; how to deal with writer's block; and other questions.

Noon-12:45 p.m.: Break for lunch (bring your own food and beverage). Book sales continue.

12:45 p.m.-2 p.m.: Self-publishing versus traditional publishing. Question and answer session aimed at sharing experiences with being published and discussing the pros and cons of each kind of publishing.

2:30 p.m.-3:45 p.m.Marketing your book. Question and answer session discussing agents, researching publishers, writing contests, finding distributors for self-published works, and learning the odds of becoming a best-selling writer.

4:30 p.m.: Closing remarks
