Friday, June 6, 2 p.m.: "Riverwalk Jazz" examines the pivotal role that the Paul Whiteman Orchestra and cornetist Bix Beiderbecke played in music of 1920.

Saturday June 7, 7 p.m.: "The Thistle & Shamrock" features tunes inspired by poets’ lives and works.

Sunday, June 8, 7 pm: Carlos Alvarez sings the title role in Rossini’s "William Tell" in a performance at Turin, Italy, on "World of Opera."

Monday, June 9, 2 p.m.: Trained in Europe and the U.S., pianist Amina Figarova from the former Soviet state of Azerbaijan shares her jazz style on "Piano Jazz."

Tuesday, June 10, 7 p.m.: "Humankind" presents an examination of how to restructure school life in this age of intense competition for college and stressed-out students.

Wednesday, June 11, 11 a.m.: Tara Helen O’Connor, David Shifrin and William Purvis join small ensembles in a program of music for woodwinds from the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Thursday, June 12, 8 p.m.: Janet Napolitano, former governor of Arizona and Secretary of Homeland Security, is featured in conversation on "City Arts & Lectures."
