Here's a great way to support our troops -- buy their music. The Joe Speed Band, of Wyoming, has just been included in a compilation CD featuring exclusively soldiers and veterans performing original music and including two battlefield music videos.

You can order it at gijams.com. If enter the coupon code of jsb, the band members receive credit for the sale. Proceeds from the project  go to the soldiers.

Three Laramie, Wyo., National Guardsmen - Spc. Jeremiah Eaton, Pfc. Dusty Scott and Sgt. Nathan Harvey - make up the Joe Speed Band. Their song  "Cowboy Soldiers'' can be downloaded for 99 cents.

It's a twangy country party song about needing a beer on a hot day. But listen close, and its lyrics about living in a war zone and missing home clear things up. This is no ordinary country ditty, and these guys aren't your average songwriters.

It was Christmas Eve 2009 in Iraq when the trio in the 133rd Engineer Company with the Wyoming National Guard decided to make some music. They were lonesome for home and trying to find a quiet spot to record the song on Eaton's laptop. They'd heard about the Internet project to allow military personnel to upload songs to GI Jams and decided to give it a shot. Eaton wrote the song and sings the verses, and all three soldiers sing the chorus.
