The Downtown Billings Association’s Alive After 5 kicks off June 5 with a new venue and a new band to the series, bluegrass group Lil’ Smokies.

The free event runs outdoors at various Billings venues on Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. The series opens at the Fieldhouse Cafe, 2605 Minnesota Ave. Food and beer are available for purchase.

The series runs through Aug. 28. The DBA is again sponsoring a Family Fun Night Aug. 21 at North 31st Street and 4th Avenue North. The event features a kid’s entertainment area with crafts, games, a climbing wall, and a bouncy slide. The night will also feature food trucks, music by the Midlife Chryslers, and local craft beer and spirits.
