Four resident artists to exhibit work at Red Lodge Clay Center

RED LODGE - The Farewell Loft Exhibition, featuring work by the 2008-09 Red Lodge Clay Center resident artists, is Saturday at the center in downtown Red Lodge.

An opening reception will be held Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. The show features work by resident artists, Ernest Forward, Ryan Olsen, Paige Wright and Martha H Grover. The show is the culmination of a year of working together for the artists.

The residents will also be hosting a send-off pottery sale at the Red Lodge Clay Center Studio north of town. All are welcome and invited to attend. The sale will take place July 10 from 12 to 7 pm, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and July 12 from 12 to 5 p.m.

Forward, who is from Alaska, is heading to Bozeman to enter the MFA program this fall at Montana State University.

Grover, who is from Maine, is moving to Helena in September where she will complete a year-long residency at the Archie Bray Foundation.

Olsen, who is from Wyoming, is moving back to Casper to set up his ceramics studio where he can pursue a career as a studio artist.

Wright, who is from Oregon, is moving to Athens, Ohio, to enter an MFA program at Ohio University.
