The Billings Senior High School Drama Department and Thespian Troupe 555 is presenting Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" Thursday, Nov. 5, through Saturday, Nov. 7, in the school auditorium. Show times are 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The tragic story of the two star-crossed lovers is timeless, as is the warring nature of opposing factions like the Capulets and Montagues. Shakespeare biographer Peter Ackroyd describes it as a play about "youthful impulsiveness and extravagance, dancing and swordplay, energy with sudden violence and swift transitions."
The production is set in a timeless era, reflecting the many themes that run throughout. The play is under the direction of Bonnie Banks, with Ryan Gage and Kevin Kass assisting. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and may be purchased at the door.
Markie Reichert portrays Juliet, and Kaleb Christensen plays Romeo.
