Rimrock Opera Chorus for Kids' fifth annual summer camp is set for June 22-26 at Venture Theatre.
The camp is open to youth in grades 1-8 who love to sing, dance and act. Majors, campers entering grades 4-8, and Minors, those entering grades 1-3, may download a registration form online at www.rimrockopera.org or call R.O.C.K. director Amy Logan at 671-5174 to receive a registration form by mail. Registration must be received by June 12. High school students interested in becoming R.O.C.K. camp counselors should contact Logan.
In addition to Logan, R.O.C.K. Camp faculty includes Sarah Butts, Heidi Rae Damjanovich, Quentin Staton, Myra Nurre, Christina Pezzarossi and Lynette Tedlund. Through excerpts from opera and Broadway shows, campers will create entire scenes and experience all areas of a musical production, including set and prop construction, makeup, auditioning and improvisation. Students have the option for private voice coaching from camp staff at $10 per lesson, paid to the instructor.
The camp concludes with a performance open to the public at 5 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Venture Theatre.
