Dance Into Spring Dance Showcase 2014, is Saturday, May 3, at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln Center. The event is presented in collaboration with Arts Partners Unlimited.It celebrates 25 years of presenting a wide variety of dance styles for Billings.
Performances are professionally staged and this year’s showcase features ballet to ballroom to belly dance with jazz, tap and modern dance.
Participating dance studios and organizations presenting up to 10 minute performance segments will include: Billings Dance Academy, The Golden Dancers, Mosaic Belly Dance, Dance Fever, Wrecking Clowns Dance Crew, Rimview Dance Studio, MJ Dance Studios and the Cody, Wyo., based, Rocky Mountain School of the Arts.
The showcase is not intended nor staged as a juried competition, but rather a unique opportunity for area dancers and choreographers to share their work with each other and area dance enthusiasts in an affordable, professionally staged setting.
Technical Support is provided by Steve Zediker and a host of volunteers will be on hand to present a smooth running event.
Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items which will be collected for distribution to area families in need. Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for students. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and concessions are available to purchase. Proceeds will benefit a scholarship fund along with the Koncerts For Kidz Summer series of free admission family concerts presented by the Billings Brain Injury Support Group in collaboration with the Billings Parks and Recreation Department.
