'Begin Again'

Synopsis: Gretta (Keira Knightley) is left reeling and lovelorn after her longtime boyfriend and songwriting partner Dave (Adam Levine) signs to a major label and strays from their relationship. But her world takes a turn for the better when Dan (Mark Ruffalo), a disgraced record-label executive, stumbles upon her performing on an East Village stage and is immediately captivated by her raw talent. The chance encounter leads to a fresh start for both of them.

'Persecuted'

Synopsis: As evangelist John Luther's (James Remar) national influence reaches a scale that would help cement the country's shift toward sweeping religious reform, he's targeted by political powers who view him as a threat. Framed by U.S. Senator Donald Harrison (Bruce Davison) and his supporters, Luther finds himself accused in the slaying of an innocent teenage girl but is released on his own recognizance. Under relentless surveillance, Luther races to expose those involved with, or profiting from, the girl's murder.

Synopsis: When world-famous air racer Dusty (voiced by Dane Cook) learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. Dusty joins forces with veteran fire and rescue helicopter Blade Ranger (Ed Harris) and his team of all-terrain vehicles known as The Smokejumpers. Together, the fearless team battles a massive wildfire, and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero.

'The Purge: Anarchy'

Synopsis: A young couple's car breaks down right at the commencement of the annual "Purge," a government-sanctioned 12-hour period in which all crime is legal and all emergency services are suspended. In their attempt to survive, they discover is that much the violence and mayhem is more organized and sinister that they ever imagined.

'Sex Tape'

Genre/rating: Comedy. R.

Synopsis: Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) decide their love life needs a spark after 10 years and two kids. They decide — why not? — to make a video of themselves trying out every position in "The Joy of Sex" in one marathon 3-hour session. It seems like a great idea — until they discover that their most private video is no longer private. In their race to reclaim their video, they find that it will expose even more than they bargained for.

'Deliver Us From Evil'

Synopsis: A New York police officer in the midst of struggling with his own personal issues, Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana) begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with Mendoza (Edgar Ramirez), an unconventional priest schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city.

‘Maleficent’

Synopsis: Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant, Aurora. As she grows, Aurora (Elle Fanning) is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

It’s time to take her boom box and book it. The bad news is she’s broke and without wheels. The worse news is her grandma, Pearl (Susan Sarandon), is her only option — with a car, cash, and an itch to see Niagara Falls. Not exactly the escape Tammy had in mind, but hitting the road with grandma riding shotgun may be just what she needs.

‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’
