First Easter egg hunt is Friday morning

Grab the kids and some baskets and get ready to find those eggs.

Laurel gets a jump on Easter egg hunts with one on Friday morning at 11 at Laurel Health and Rehabilitation, 820 Third Ave. This one is for kids ages 1 to 11.

On Saturday, egg hunts are being held throughout Billings and Laurel.

Faith E Church, 3145 Sweetwater Drive, hosts an 11 a.m. event with age-specific egg hunts.

Lewis and Clark Middle School plays host to a hunt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with age-specific egg hunts, inflatables, hot dogs, cotton candy, games and a visit from the Easter Bunny. It is sponsored by Emmanuel Baptist Church.

The Montana State University Billings campus holds its annual hunt at 10:30 a.m. for students 10 and younger. The fun includes an appearance by the Easter Bunny and refreshments in the Student Union Building atrium.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. for the egg hunt at the Tree of Life Wesleyan Church, 3608 Custer Ave. The big hunt starts at noon for those 12 and younger. Prize drawings for all ages and candy and hot dogs.

Optimist Park opens its egg hunt at noon for ages 12 and younger. There is a fire engine start and prizes for every age group. Free. It is sponsored by Southwest Corridor Task Force and Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County.

Easter Eggstravaganza runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Billings Depot, 2310 Montana Ave. The event features two Easter egg hunts, games, crafts, an illusionist, a petting zoo, bounce houses, cupcake decorating and other activities. The cost is $10 per child, free for accompanying adults. Hosted by The Family Tree Center.

The South Park Easter Egg Hunt begins at noon for youngsters up to age 14. A special-needs area is available.

In Laurel, an Easter egg hunt and basket giveaway starts at 11 a.m. The Rock Church, 820 W. Ninth St. The hunt begins 11:20 a.m. with age-specific hunts. There will also be snow cones, cotton candy, popcorn, games, inflatable moon bounces, door prizes, and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Two more Easter egg hunts are taking place outside the Billings-Laurel area. They include: an event in Big Timber at Lions Club (City) Park starting at 1 p.m. and featuring hunts designated by age group, special eggs and a visit by the Easter Bunny; and an Easter egg hunt in Hardin outside the Primary School in Custer Park starting at 11 a.m.
