In recognition of National Teacher Day, which was Tuesday, we asked our Facebook friends to name a teacher who made a difference in their lives. Here’s what they had to say:

Christie Hansen Arnold: “Charlie Nesbit — Billings Senior High...taught us to listen, think, write, appreciate, laugh and....dance.”

Mihail Kennedy: “Charlie Bokum made sure I succeeded. He pushed me to excel when I realized I could coast through school pretty easily. Patrick Evans also challenged me. Latin was easily the toughest class I took in high school, but it was also the most rewarding.”

Angela Cimmino: “My high school teacher Miss Jane Everingham because she was a cross between Mary Tyler Moore and Marlo Thomas. She demonstrated an elegant style of excellent work ethics and independence. Because of her teaching talent, she is still my role model carrying herself with grace and confidence.”

Coila Evans: “My third grade teacher — Mrs. Talant. She was strict with high standards, but allowed students to have input and ask questions. She also would let me draw whatever item she wanted to display the lesson plan with on the chalk board:)”
