A first-of-its-kind arts and crafts gallery, Bailiwick studio and gallery, has opened next to the Log Cabin Bakery building at 2409 Second Ave. N. The gallery features photography, stained glass, pottery, painting, quilting, mosaic, jewelry, candles, lotions and bath scents, dog bandannas and dog treats, rosemaling, woodcarving, painted wood furniture and more.

Monica Maristuen, owner of the studio and gallery, has been a crafter for over 20 years and has taught craft classes for many of those years in addition to hosting craft shows in her home.

Master craft classes will be offered every month in the studio, with other craft classes as well. Crafters will be able to use the studio as a co-op for scrapbooking and any other type of crafting. The first class will be held in January, featuring soap making with Mary Hernandez.

Bailiwick studio and gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Local artists featured are Kari Jones, Kim Brown, Mary Hernandez, P J Rose, Chris Walter, Voni Fletcher, Wanda Hert, Linda Branae, Karen Burroughs, Casey Thompson, Sandy Dvarishkis, and Paul Bleicher.

The gallery will have an open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 254-7100 or e-mail bailiwick@imt.net.
