During a recent opening for the Yellowstone Art Museum’s spring and summer exhibitions, Matt Jones of Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railway announced that the BNSF Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to mark the museum’s 50th anniversary.

BNSF will be named the museum’s Heritage Sponsor for the remainder of 2014. The grant will support new exhibitions, expanded art education and additional special events throughout 2014.

“BNSF congratulates the Yellowstone Art Museum on its 50th anniversary,” said Jones, public affairs director for BNSF. “The BNSF Foundation is proud to support the YAM and the invaluable work they do to promote regional art and foster art education.”

Executive director Robyn G. Peterson said BNSF has been a supporter on several occasions.

Throughout the YAM’s anniversary year, the exhibitions and programs will highlight and honor the thousands of personal relationships that have been the basis for 50 years of growth. A commemorative publication will appear later in the year, and an anniversary gala is scheduled for Nov. 7.
