The Teen Advisory Group at Billings Public Library will host an art contest for all teens, ages 13-19, during the month of April. Teens may create an original work of art based on different sections of the Young Adult collection in the library, such as fiction, manga and nonfiction. The topic will be assigned randomly when a teen signs up. The winners for each section will have their artwork displayed in the library, in the section for which the art was made. One grand prize winner will also receive a $50 gift card to Michaels. Teens can sign up anytime during the month, but submissions for the contest must be turned in to the TECH Lab by April 26.
The library will host a gallery viewing on April 29 to display all of the entries. Food and drinks will be provided.
Teens should register and receive contest details at the TECH Lab at Billings Public Library, 510 N. Broadway. Registration opens Saturday, April 1.
The event was created and designed by the library’s Teen Advisory Group, a group of teens who volunteer their time at the library to promote and enrich teen programs and services. Anyone interested in joining TAG or learning more about the group may call 696-8538.
