"Honor Flight" is a documentary about four World War II veterans and a Wisconsin community that comes together to give them the trip of a lifetime. Volunteers race against the clock to fly thousands of World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to see the National World War II Memorial, which was built in 2004.

The "Honor Flight" film covers a trip taken by Wisconsin veterans in their late 80s and early 90s. For many, it is the last trip of their lives. The 24-hour journey is full of moving surprises.

This film, which opened in the fall, is on tour across the country to help raise awareness and money for other Honor Flight efforts.

Big Sky Honor Flight’s mission is to recognize Montana World War II veterans for their sacrifices and achievements by flying them to Washington, D.C., — at no cost to them — to see their memorial. About 190 veterans have already made two tour tours to Washington as part of the Big Sky Honor Flight program.

Fundraising continues as Big Sky Honor Flight aims to get three flights off the ground this spring, tentatively planned for late April, May and June. About $152,000 is needed for each flight. More than 300 World War II veterans are on a waiting list.
