Husband, wife team up for violin-piano concert

Married couple, violinist Sara Hancock and pianist Lee Hancock, are presenting a concert on June 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 310 N 27th St. Tickets are $10.

The highlight of the evening will be a rare performance of Beethoven’s Violin and Piano Sonata, Op. 47, also known as the “Kreutzer Sonata.” Massive in scope, the “Kreutzer Sonata” presents formidable challenges throughout for both performers.

The program will also include Bartok’s “Roumanian Folk Dances” for violin and piano and Mozart’s melodic masterpiece “Sonata in F Major,” K. 332 for solo piano.
