Billings native Ellen Moak won the online “Country Idol” competition after garnering 178 votes.

Moak, who graduated from Rocky Mountain College with a degree in vocal performance, is the lead singer in the rock band, Ellen and the Old School. She performs in that band with her dad Mark on drums.

As winner of “Country Idol,” co-presented by the Billings Symphony Orchestra and The Billings Gazette, Moak will be the featured soloist at a March 2015 concert with the BSO, “Gone Country.”
