Seattle-based percussionist Don Dieterich will perform at Walkers Grill on Aug. 31 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Born in Billings and raised in Lewistown — where his father Glen was a longtime director of bands — Dieterich graduated from Montana State University in 1982 before going on to complete his master’s degree in music from Penn State University. Since then, Dieterich has been in demand as a teacher and performer in Seattle, where he plays clubs and concerts and performs musical theater and does recording for television and film scores.
Working with artists as varied as jazz greats Eddie Daniels and Phil Woods to country singer Chely Wright, he’s comfortable with a variety of musical styles. He will be joined by two Bozeman musicians: guitarist Craig Hall (a collaborator from his MSU days) and bassist Colleen Schmidt.
