Morgan Stacey of Billings has been named to the dean’s list (GPA 3.6 or higher) for the spring semester at the University of Notre Dame School of Law. Also, based upon her performance in the Moot Court Tournament, she was selected to be a member and oralist on the Notre Dame Moot Court Board for the next two years. Based on her writing submission, GPA and other factors, she was also selected as a staff member on the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics and Policy, the highest ranked non-Law Review journal at Notre Dame.

(4 PHOTOS)The Billings Golden K Kiwanis have provided $2,000 in scholarships to West High School students. The Gary Reynolds’ Scholarships were awarded to Brennan Hawsey and Michael Wheeler. Hawsey plans to attend Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. Wheeler will begin his pre-med program at the University of Montana. West High Key Club Scholarships were awarded to Sarah Scheie and Jessica Dutton. Scheie will attend Montana State University. Dutton plans to attend the University of Wyoming, majoring in architectural engineering.

(4 PHOTOS)Triangle Communications (Triangle) awarded 32 $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and three scholarships to continuing undergraduates undergraduate students attending an accredited university, college or trade school and whose family receives local telephone service from Triangle. Local students include Geoffery Heiken, Kourtney Schott and Morgan Beckett, all of Broadview, and Kaari Hultgren of Molt. Winning applicants were selected based on complete online applications, academic performance, leadership, achievements, employment, volunteerism and a personal statement. Rebecca Schreier, D.O., of Billings, graduated with a degree of doctor of osteopathic medicine from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, W. Va. Schreier had earned a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Montana State University Billings.

Zachary Wilson of Billings has been named to the spring dean’s list at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Wash.

Caitlin Mckenzie Koski of Billings has graduated from the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y., with a bachelor of science degree in biomedical engineering.

Alex Gallagher of Billings, a 2011 West High graduate, has earned academic distinction of dean's first honors for the spring semester at the University of San Diego.

Brenna Boese of Billings has earned a place on the dean's honor roll for outstanding scholarship for the 2013-14 academic year at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo., with a 3.50-3.74 grade point average in any two terms of the year.

Linda Gutmann of Billings has completed her FAA multi-engine instructor (MEI) rating at Rocky Mountain College. Gutmann is a senior majoring in aeronautical science at Rocky Mountain College. The aeronautical science program includes a four-year baccalaureate degree that prepares graduates for careers as professional pilots. Gutmann graduated from Landschulheim Kempfenhausen am Starnberger See (secondary school) in Starnberg, Bavaria, Germany, in 2011.

Laura Trent of Billings has earned a spot on the dean’s list at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Ore., with a GPA of 3.75 or better.

Ryan Brandon Timm of Billings has graduated from Washington State University in Pullman, Wash., with a bachelor of arts degree in music.

Hannah Habermann of Billings completed a semester-long wilderness expedition traveling in the Rocky Mountains with the National Outdoor Leadership School which is based in Lander, Wyo. A NOLS education stresses leadership can be learned and is based on the belief that the outdoors is a challenging environment where students will learn hard skills and about themselves. The semester was split into four sections: winter, canyon, rock climbing and river; three to five instructors who are experts in the field accompanied students on each section. It also included a Wilderness First Responder course. This 80-hour backcountry first aid course was taught by the NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute during an eight-day base camp and provided students with the tools to make medical and evacuation decisions in the backcountry.

Local students graduated from Montana State University-Bozeman this spring. Students with ** after their name graduated with highest honors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.70. Undergraduate students with * after their names graduated with honors with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 to 3.69.

Billings students have graduated from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Neb.: Ronald Beyer with a BS degree in healthcare management and Brent Brady with a BS degree in management.

Lauren Ficek, a 2014 graduate of Billings West High, represented Montana as a delegate to the 2014 National Youth Science Camp from June 27 to July 20. Ficek joined 100 other top science students from across the nation and around the world for this acclaimed honors science leadership program.

Billings students have been named to the Laureate Society for the spring semester at Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash. They are Brianna Bell, Michaila Grant and Madison Mulvaney.

During the annual Montana 4-H Congress, nearly $23,000 in scholarships was awarded. Local students earning a scholarship include:

Kourtney Schott, Stillwater County: Carson Christensen Memorial Scholarship. A 10-year 4-H member, she plans to attend Gonzaga University to pursue a business degree.

Morgan Beckett, Mussellshell/Golden Valley County: Wilcox Family Scholarship. Beckett is a 10-year 4-H member who plans to attend MSU for a degree in engineering.

Katherine McCleary, Big Horn County: Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply Scholarship, $1,000. A 12-year 4-H, McCleary plans to attend Yale University for an anthropology or archeology degree.

Brittany Wetstein, Carbon County: Bud Dawson Livestock Scholarship, $500. Wetstein is a 10-year 4-H member who plans to attend Miles Community College for an associate’s degree in nursing.

Daviau will attend Army basic training at Fort Sill, Okla., and then attend the military health care training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He has been assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1-163rd Cavalry Regiment in Belgrade. Daviau currently works for American Medical Response.

Oyler will attend Army basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and then attend fire fighting school at Good Fellow AFB, Texas. She is studying physical therapy at Montana State University Billings.

He also plans to attend flight school and complete the Army’s Warrant Officer Program.

He has been assigned to the 443rd Signal Company. Bergum plans to attend dental school in the fall.
