The Billings Family YMCA honored volunteers and donors. In 2013, more than 500 volunteers donated more than 9,000 hours. The Founder’s Award was given to Katie Link for her long time service as a board member, tireless volunteer and key donor to the YMCA. Brett Maas was given the Volunteer of the Year Award for his long time work as an inspiring swim coach at the Y. Also honored were volunteers who donated more than 100 hours in 2013: Vincent McMahon for work on designing and developing the YMCA website; Mary Huff, volunteer in preschool; Alissa Lienwand for work in membership; Larry Seekins, the man responsible for bringing wildly popular pickleball to the Y; Chandra Reum, volunteer in group exercise and administration; Stella Fong, for her work with the YMCA’s board of directors; and Troy Calhoun, volunteer in group fitness.

He earned three college credits taking an economics class. He is a member of the National Honor Society. While attending Georgetown he also played baseball for Bradley Baseball Academy at tournaments in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York. He has been recruited for college baseball by Pitt, Georgetown, Haverford, Bates, Kenyon, Macalester, Grinnell, Arcadia and Catholic University but hasn’t decided on which college he will attend.

She had previously been stationed on a global ice breaker, USCGC Polar Sea, homeported in Seattle, Wash.; with the Pacific Strike Team out of Novato, Calif.; at a small boat station, Brant Point, on Nantucket, Mass., and at USCG headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Col. Collin D. Rose has graduated from the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, Pa., and earned a master's degree in strategic studies. The college is the Army's senior educational institution. The 10-month curriculum of the Army's senior officer school is designed to prepare and train officers of all the U.S. military branches of service, foreign military officers, as well as senior civilian officials of federal agencies, to serve in top-level command and staff positions with the U.S. Armed Forces worldwide. He has served in the military for 28 years and is currently serving as garrison commander with the Training Center, Fort Harrison. Rose is the son of Ann Harkins of Laurel.
