Virginia and Lewis Hoiness celebrated their 65th anniversary with a cake reception at Harvest Church in Lockwood.

Virginia Mae Stinson and Lewis Hoiness were married Oct. 28, 1951, in Billings.

He farmed his father’s land in Boyd for a year before the couple moved to Billings and then to Park City. He was a hard worker, holding jobs at Pierce Packing and then Western Sugar Factory. He retired from Western after 38 years plus two years of college. He continues working two days a week for his son David Hoiness at Ideal Manufacturing.

She was a homemaker and later worked at J.C. Penny in Laurel. She also worked for Park City schools. Her work there included cooking for the lunchroom, which lead her to cook for the senior center, and then for the Beartooth Mountain Christian Ranch for 10 years.

Their children and spouses are Ken and Char Hoiness of Laurel; Doug and Suzi Hoiness of Cody, Wyo.; and David Hoiness, Mark and Cassie Hoiness, and Tina and Richard Pilon, all of Billings.

They have eight grandchildren.
