Betty, age 81, passed away on Sept. 1, 2009.
Betty was born Sept. 8, 1927, to Neva and Lawrence McFarland in Billings. She graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1946. She worked at Chapel Drug and Archie Cochran Motors before she married Thomas Daniel Tennyson on July 4, 1948. They had three children, Karen, Terry and Sherry. She has one very special grandchild, Angela, born to Sherry. She loved children and babysat for children at the YMCA for many years. Betty and Tom owned Tennyson Plumbing and Heating for 60 years. She was proud of her German heritage and collected German dishes and made a trip to Germany in the 1978. Betty and Tom celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary July 4.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her husband Tom (Mike) and her three children Karen (Terry) Haren of Overland Park Kan., Terry of Denver, Colo., Sherry (Calvin) Birney of Brookings, Ore., and her granddaughter, Angela (Clayton) Wagstaff of Denver, Colo. She is also survived by her sister Lois (Neil) Logan and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Smith West Chapel, at 304 34th St. W. Interment will follow at the Huntley Cemetery. Visitation begins 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, also at Smith's West Chapel.
