Craig Regan Hilton died on June 4, 2014, surrounded by his children. He was born on Dec. 30, 1953, in Billings, the only child of Gayle and John Hilton. He lived in Billings his entire life.
Craig was a star athlete at Central Catholic High School in both basketball and football and graduated in 1972 – 6’4” with red hair, Big Red was hard to miss! He was a dedicated employee at Briggs Distributing since he was 23 years old and made many friendships while making his deliveries around the Billings area and eastern Montana. He was also an avid, daily racquetball player and was side-lined only by a back injury that plagued him the last several years of his life.
Craig is survived by his children, Charlotte (Bruce) Lauerman and John (Tammie) Hilton of Helena, and their mother, Mary Whittinghill; Lacey Hilton of Billings and her mother Cindy Hilton; and his grandchildren – their pictures covered every inch of his home! – Henry and Joseph Lauerman, Samantha and Stella Hilton and Gracie Treiber. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gayle and John Hilton and his best friend since childhood, David Hutchinson.
Dad always said, “life is too short,” and we hope all will take these words to heart every day.
Cremation has taken place and per his request his ashes will be spread in Red Lodge near his mother. Condolences can be made at www.cfgbillings.com/our-families.
