Dolores Smotherman Moore died at Billings Health and Rehabilitation on July 21, 2014.
She was born July 25, 1932, in Cody, Wyo., to Sidney Smotherman and Frances Wiltse Smotherman. Her maternal grandparents worked for the famous William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. Dolores’s sister, Carole Anne Harrison Giffin of Austin, Texas, survives her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Ralph E. (Shorty) Harrison; and two siblings, Margaret Smotherman DeClue and Thomas Gene Harrison.
In 1949, she married Daniel Ellis Moore in Sidney. They were married for 62 years and were longtime residents of both Sidney and Billings.
Dolores was a true woman of the West, whether hunting or homemaking.
Her husband, Dan, preceded her in death, along with their daughter, Kathleen. Dolores is survived by a granddaughter, Raygienne Ritter; four great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dorothea Huff; and special nephew, Donald Floth; as well as numerous family and friends.
Dolores worked for over 20 years in banking in both Sidney and Columbus.
Cremation has taken place. No service is planned. Interment will be in Sidney at the Richland Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West or to the charity of one’s choice.
