ROUNDUP — Dr. James B. Watson III passed away at his home on Feb. 6, 2014.
Jim was born in Nashville, Tenn., on Jan. 15, 1942, and spent his childhood fishing the Cumberland River, playing basketball and excelling academically. He graduated from Vanderbilt University and University of Tennessee Medical School, then served in the U.S. Army as a Chief Medical Officer. Upon completion of his medical internship and residency, Dr. Watson practiced gastroenterology in Anchorage, Alaska, for 24 years, where he and his family enjoyed spending time at their family cabins, exploring the wilderness, and photographing Alaskan nature. Jim and his wife, Anne, spent their retirement years between their home in the Bull Mountains near Roundup, Mont., and their cabin at East Rosebud Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; daughters, Dahy (Ian) McIntosh, Sarah Watson, Ansley (Rob) Ford; and five grandchildren, Will, Daisy, Cy, Cael and Rose.
No funeral is planned and cremation has taken place.
