Edward Goodman, a member of the greatest generation, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the age of 95.
He was born on May 20, 1919, to Fred and Eva Goodman, in Hesper, Mont. At age 20, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served as a flight engineer on a B-24 in bomb groups in Australia, India, Iran, Egypt and Israel. He loved to talk about his military experiences and the people he met there.
He married Barbara Brown in 1945 and they were married for 61 years. He enjoyed farming in his early years and then spent 30 years working for Exxon until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, pheasant hunting and traveling. He was very creative with his hands and could fix anything.
Ed is survived by his daughter, June (Ron) Panian of Billings; sons Gary (Connie) of Bellingham, Wash., and Fred (Connie) of Spokane, Wash.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Irvin (Janice), Fred (Mae); sisters Shirley (Bill) and Violet. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; brothers Raymond and Walt; and sisters Esther, Delores and Louise.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Interment with military honors will follow in Mountview Cemetery.
