Ethel B. Graves, 83, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings. She was born Aug. 3, 1920, in Newell, S.D., to Lorne and Lillian (Fredlund) Eichler.
Ethel moved to San Francisco after getting out of school. During World War II she worked as a welder on ships in Seattle. Ethel worked as a waitress most of her life.
She met Lyle Graves while working at the St. Onge Supper Club in South Dakota. They were married in 1960 in Casper, Wyo. In Billings she worked at the Yellowstone Country Club and retired in 1973 from the Arena Cafe. Ethel enjoyed dancing, playing cards, watching rodeos, bowling, collecting chickens and, as Ethel would say, "That's it."
Ethel is survived by her husband, Lyle; children, Lynn Dee Aldrich of Fort Collins, Colo., Cynthia Marie (Tim) Wakefield of Vacaville, Calif., Douglas L.(Carol) Graves of Billings, Sheila R. Kirkpatrick of Twin Bridges and Sharon K. (Vern) Bakker of Billings; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers Ray and Les Eichler, and a sister, Edith Falk.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Edna; brothers, Robert and Elmer Eichler.
