Floyd Joseph Heser peacefully passed from this life surrounded by the love of his family on Jan. 28, 2018.
His spirit is carried on in the hearts of his wife Joan of nearly 60 years, seven children, 16 grandchildren, all of their spouses and partners, eight great-grandchildren, and countless extended family members and friends. He lovingly gathered them all into his heart over his bountiful life. Floyd was born on Sept. 8, 1939, and grew up in Wolf Point, where he later reared his own family before relocating to Billings in 1985.
He never encountered a stranger and offered himself as a friend to everyone. He loved working on cars, tinkering around the house, helping a neighbor in need, and raising birds. He also had a gift of “green thumb” as seen in his yard and garden. Floyd took great pleasure in sharing conversation over coffee or supper. Most of all, he loved his family, and until his very last days could be found playing catch or patiently reading to the children that brought him so much joy. He taught us all that one heart can have an infinite capacity for love, that kindness is the best option, and that you always have more than you need.
Floyd’s family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at a later time.
