COLUMBUS — Gayle Hauge passed away from this life on June 30, 2014, in Billings.

Gayle, daughter of Donald and Esther (Kumke) Richardson, was born in Columbus on July 30, 1947, the youngest of three children. She resided in Columbus her entire life, graduating from Columbus High School as salutatorian of her class. Gayle worked various jobs as a bookkeeper, most recently for Stillwater County. She was a person of many talents and interests. She loved spending the warm summer days outside taking care of her array of plants. Gayle was best known for her extraordinarily caring heart and helping nature.

On April 4, 1976, Gayle married Larry Hauge, at the Community Congregational Church in Columbus. They spent 38 blessed years together. They jointly established R&H Concrete in Columbus.

Shortly after they were married, their eldest son, Trent was born and three years later Seth was born. Gayle was an incredibly devoted wife and mother. Showing support and pride in everything her sons did. She was their number one fan in sports and academics, always with a camera in her hand.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Hauge; son Trent (Marissa); son Seth (Lacey), children Haydn and Harlo; sister Bonnie Happ; aunt Bonnie Preikszas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Bob Richardson.

Memorial services will be held at the Columbus Evangelical Church at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 11. If desired, memorials in Gayle’s name may be made to the Museum of the Beartooths, PO Box 1, Columbus, MT 59019.
