Gordon Davidson Geiss passed away at the age of 90. Central to his life were his ties to his family and friends as well as his lifelong respect for the Western way of life he enjoyed in both Montana and Wyoming.
A World War II Naval Veteran, he attended and graduated from Montana State College, now Montana University at Bozeman with a B.S. in Agriculture and Ranch Management in June of 1951.
In the late 60’s, Gordon Geiss moved to Anchorage, Alaska and remained a resident there until his death. This time was punctuated by frequent trips to both Montana and Wyoming to visit his family and maintain long term friendships in the area.
Gordon enjoyed the sounds of great music from country fiddlers to polka parties. He was known as an accomplished folk and square dance participant. He’d travel many miles with great enthusiasm to attend these events.
Gordon Geiss leaves behind his two sons, Monte Geiss and Mark (Lorrie) Geiss of Sheridan Wyoming. He was proceeded in death by his grandson, Steven J. Geiss. He leaves behind two grandsons, Christifer Morgan and Timothy W. Geiss. Gordon also leaves behind two great grandsons and his half-brother Jon A. Geiss (Carol) of Idaho.
