HARLOWTON — John C. Mysse, 63, of Harlowton, passed away Aug. 12, 2014.

John was born July 16, 1951, in Columbus, the son of Carl Robert Mysse and Helen (Rash) Mysse. He spent his childhood years in Roundup, where he attended all of his elementary years. His family then moved to Harlowton, where John went all four years of high school, graduating in 1969.

On June 30, 1973, John married Myrna Berg, in Harlowton, at the American Lutheran Church.

Most of John’s younger years were spent working for various surrounding ranches. John also worked for the Milwaukee Railroad where he was proud to work with his father. John was considered to be a “jack of all trades,” as there was not much John couldn’t do.

As a young man John loved to ride horses. This grew into his fascination for roping. John loved to rope and ride, and was an avid member of the early “Harlowton Roping Club.” John also loved to cook and bake. He was noted for his cinnamon rolls and bread, as well as all his Norwegian cooking and baking. John’s favorite past time was being with his children and grandchildren and watching them at all their activities. John loved traveling around the state following his children participate in sporting events and extra-curricular activities. John was proud to say he never missed one of their activities in all their years. He in fact scheduled his dialysis early mornings, leaving Harlowton at 4:00 in the morning, just to make it to all their activities. John was always willing to open his home to his children’s friends, many of whom John treated like his own.

John was known for his infectious laugh, great sense of humor, and his great jokes.

Some of John’s fondest memories were spending time with his family and friends hunting, fishing, and camping. John held a special place in his heart for the family cabin, and cherished all the many memories made there with family and friends.

John’s greatest accomplishments in life were being a husband, a dad, and a papa. Nothing meant more of to him in the world than his family.

John was preceded in death by his father, Carl Robert Mysse; father-in-law, Marvin Berg; and brother-in-law, Jim Hubbard.
