RYEGATE — Jon M. Englert, 73, of Ryegate, passed away April 13. He is survived by his wife Gerri; three stepsons, Brian, Brent and Blake Kober; seven grandchildren; sister Coco/Dale Beland; brother Rob Englert; and seven nephews and one niece.

He graduated from Great Falls High in '57, Bozeman in '61 with a degree in Engineering. In the Military, he was Harbor Master for two years in Saigon then stayed to work as liaison between U.S. Military and Alaska Barge moving freight.

He sold Real Estate in Billings for many years, keeping his license to work as an Oil & Gas Landman with Gerri until his death. He has friends and contacts in and out of the U.S. who stay in touch regularly.

The Rygate Gun Club 1000 yd. shooting position and Prayer Group were activities he and Gerri shared with Jon as Range Officer, and Gerri as Secretary Treasurer. A monthly newsletter called the "Voice of Ryegate" in association with Maria Min was another community endeavor.

A celebration of his life will be held at the gun range at noon on Friday, June 28, with lunch following at the senior citizens. There will be signs posted and a gate attendant so cows won't escape!
