Kaye passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, surrounded by friends and family after a long illness.

Kaye was born on Jan. 3, 1939, in Minot, N.D., to Earl and Dorothy Chalgren. She was joined a year later by brother Jay and 10 years later by sister Lynell. The family all moved to Billings in 1952. Kaye attended schools at Lincoln Junior High and graduated from Billings Senior High in 1957.

In 1967, she met and married the love of her life, Claude Wilson. With that union she became a mom to his children Steve and Brenda. In 1973, while they were stationed in Germany they welcomed daughter Deborah.

Kaye enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, cooking, sewing, being creative and spending time tending to her flower garden. She enjoyed attending Billings Mustang games and going to the mountains whenever possible. She also enjoyed volunteering at The Billings Community Center when able. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi and The Community of Christ Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Claude, son Steve, grandson Jeremy Paul, sisters-in-law Audrey and Louise, and her beloved Andy Dog.

She is survived by her daughters Deborah (Dan) Taylor, Brenda (Billie) Acton; granddaughters, Susan (David) Kennedy, Kristy (Jobe) Miller, Kaytlyn and Rebekah Taylor; grandsons Robert Kilgore and Philip Wilson; brother Jay (Sharon) Chalgren; sister Lynell (Jim) Jungling; sisters-in-law Virginia and Ruth (Calvin); several nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 29, at 11 a.m. at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. W. A potluck luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Community of Christ Church, The Billings Animal Shelter or a charity of one’s choice.
