On Thanksgiving Day Nov. 27, 1947, Len came into the world the son of Gladys and Rueben Schutz. On Oct. 9, 2017, Len lost his battle with cancer and took his final ride to the ultimate duck hunting ground.

Len was raised in Billings; he graduated from Billings Senior High in 1966 and immediately started his career in auto body repair and painting. There wasn’t anything Len enjoyed more than restoring cars to their former glory and working on his motorcycles. He was also the world’s ultimate wheeler and dealer and never found a deal he could pass up. Len’s greatest passion was his love of waterfowl hunting with his friends, especially his cousin Danny, and his many loyal canine companions.

On March 17, 1967 Len married his high school sweetheart JoyAnn Reamy. From this union were born two beautiful daughters Lynette and Angela. Len and JoyAnn made their home in Billings and later moved to Joliet and then their current home of 24yrs in Bridger. Len and JoyAnn enjoyed many cross-country adventures on their motorcycles and in their motorhome.

Len is survived by his loving wife of 50 years JoyAnn; two daughters Lynette (Gordon) Harrison of ElDorado, KS and Angela (Mike) Hakala of Billings; three grandchildren Gordon (Ashley) Harrison of Hannibal, Missouri, Danielle Harrison of Billings, and Victoria Harrison of Las Vegas, Nevada; four great-grandchildren Taylor, Lydia, Genevieve and Vivian; a brother Larry (Laurie) Schutz of Cheney, Washington; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Gladys and Rueben, in-laws Joy and Bob Reamy, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to extend our appreciation to the staff at St. Vincent’s third floor oncology and Compassus hospice staff for the loving compassionate care they showed to Len.

Per Len’s request, there will be no service or gathering. Len requests that when you go camping, hunting, or for a motorcycle ride you think of him and enjoy your time with family and friends. The family requests donations in Len’s memory be made to your local hunter education courses.

Arrangements are by Cremation & Funeral Gallery. Condolences can be sent through www.cfgbillings.com through “Our Families.”
