HARDIN — Lucretia Rae Watson, 90, longtime Hardin pioneer resident, passed away July 19, 2014, in the Heritage Acres Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 7, 1923, in Hardin, a daughter of John Carper and Elizabeth Carper Wallace. She graduated from Hardin High School in 1941.

She cleaned homes and business for many years.

Lucretia married William C. “Bumps” Watson on Jan. 7, 1944, in Billings and the couple made their home north of Hardin. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking for her family.

Her parents, husband and two brothers preceded Lucretia in death.

Survivors include her daughters, Micki Best, Mary (Ron) Nedens, Peggy DelCamp and Marlene (Ed) Jackson; her sons, Roger (Vernice), Walt (Linda), Dale, Robert (Susan) and Larry (Kathy) Watson; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She considered Demetrio Hernandez as a son and part of her family.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. A lunch will be held in the E & R Church following the interment. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Big Horn County Historical Museum.
