Michael Benjamin Pretty Paint, 30, of Billings, died Sept. 13, 2010, of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.
He was born Feb. 14, 1980, in Hardin, a son of Gary Pretty Paint and Jo Danele Hall. He was a descendant of Chief Wolf Bow. He grew up and received his education in Salt Lake City. He worked as a manager of a Smith Grocery Store in Utah and was currently employed by United Van Lines in Billings.
Michael was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Greasy Mouth Clan and was a child of the Greasy Mouth. He enjoyed basketball, lifting weights, listening to a variety of music and singing at powwows.
His grandparents and great-grandparents, Daniel and Josephine Hall, Perry Pretty Paint, Grace Three Irons, Victor Three Irons Sr., Cecelia Big Sky, Pretty Paint, Women on Top of the Mountain and his uncle Thomas Wall preceded Michael in death.
Survivors include his parents; his children, Marcus and Kelsie Pretty Paint of Utah; his sisters, Melissa Alvarado, Suzette and Heidi Pretty Paint; his brothers, Ammon and Mosiah (Sarah) Pretty Paint; his grandmothers, Marie Pretty Paint, Audrie Deputee, Loettel Wallace, Elizabeth White Fox and Agatha (Bruce) House; his aunts, Glenda Morrison, Frances and Debbie Pretty Paint, Geneva Other Medicine, Lavina Passes, Rachel (Robert) Old Horn, Darla (Sam) Horn, Daisy (Edward) Stamper, Valerie (Jeff) Pack the Hat, Jaqueline Ware, Caroline Miller, Alice Bear Cloud, Nelvette (George) Seimon, Marlene (Leland) Walking Bear, Avis and Lana Three Irons; his uncles, Melvin (Elsie) and Stanley Pretty Paint, Robert (Carole) Howe, Nelson (Mary) and Sterling (Linda) Wallace, Terry Roselund (Cindy), Heywood (Mary Lou) Big Day Sr., Larson (Patti) Medicine Horse, Michael (Lisa) D. Hall, Keith, Gayle (Mary), Clarence (Jocelyn) and Melvin Que Three Irons; his nieces and nephews, Colt and Brandi Moon, Issac, Sarena, Devon, Dylan, Dadriam, Jonafrin, Netto, Damon, Gabriel, Yesenia, Alex, Rebekah, Samantha, Daneya, Sharice, Ambrosia, Alicia, Isaiah, Jazmine and Kayden Pretty Paint.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, in the Hardin Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel. Interment will follow in the Crow Agency Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
