Myrtle Hensel, 99, passed peacefully on March 1, 2018. She was born in Kindred, North Dakota, where she married Myles Johnson, raising three daughters, later moving to Montana in 1953. She worked hard on the farm, milking cows, making sure her girls got to school and confirmation class. Mom graduated from grade school never going to high school but was an avid reader. She loved music, had a beautiful singing voice, could play the piano by ear and loved to dance.

Myrtle later divorced, moving from the Duck Creek area to Billings, where she worked 11 years at Heath Veterinary Clinic for Doctor Jourdan. She met and married Lyle Hensel in 1964.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Ingvald and Martha Graff, sisters Gunda Olson, Ina Byrne, daughter Norma Petro, grandson Doug Petro, granddaughter Delana Miller, and great grandson baby David Skaar.

She is survived by Betty Hanson, Joliet, Linda Brodie (husband Rob) WA. Kenny Petro (Linda) AZ and Laurel. Eleven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, that she always enjoyed seeing.

A member of Apostles Evangelical Lutheran Church, she always looked forward to the visits from her minister. Our family would like to thank Stillwater Hospice and TenderNest Assisted Living for the loving Care received.

Funeral Service will be held on March 14, at 12:30 p.m., at Apostles Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3140 Broadwater Ave in Billings. Interment will be at 3 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flower donations make to charity your choice.
