Nadine Smith Bagby, 75, loving wife, beloved mother and adored grandmother, went into the arms of the Lord on July 18, 2014. She was surrounded by her family when she passed.
Nadine was born to Jack and Katherine Smith on June 23, 1939, in Walden, Colo. She married William "Bill" Bagby, whom she had known since age 10, on May 24, 1964. The two were blessed with 50 blissful years together. They started their family in Denver, later moving to Minot, N.D., before settling in Billings in 1978. There, Nadine worked at Deaconess Hospital cafeteria for 16 years before retiring.
Nadine enjoyed camping and fishing trips with her husband and kids, and later, with her grandchildren. Always busy taking care of those she loved, her downtime included reading, sewing and crocheting. She was a certified ceramics teacher and a skilled painter. What Nadine cherished most was time spent with her family and friends. Bill and Nadine's house was the gathering spot for the family and the backdrop of many fond memories for all of us.
Nadine will be well remembered for her one-of-a-kind laugh. One could not have a conversation with her without hearing it while she talked. She will be most remembered for being a fantastic wife, mother and grandmother. She was very much loved by all who were blessed to know her and will be deeply missed.
Those of us still here, waiting to be reunited with her include her husband, William; daughters Elsie (Jack) and Kathy (Steve); sons Rick (Kathy Gene) and Billy; granddaughters Pamela (Don) and Jamie; grandsons Aaron (Steph), Jesse, Monte (Kim), Damian, Devin (Maria) and Dylan; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Evelyn (Duane), sister-in-law Myrtle McAlister, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2 p.m., at New Life Church, 3950 Temple Place, Billings.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Cancer Society.
